But journal bearing turbos are not as forgiving to poor oiling under load and it has been fairly well documented the black makes enough power to cause oil cavitation on hard pulls.

So it was brought to my attention that it seems I was down on the DBB. I am definitely not down on it at all. On the street the DBB was hard to rate since it was spinning the tires trying to put down thoe 491 ft lbs it makes at full boost

I love the DBB between shifts, flooring it when I am ready to go (i.e. above 3500) it comes online VERY fast.

Interesting, I didn't think you were down on it. I guess I'm biased since I spoke to you in person. I very much agree with the bold above!

I figure that this turbo has gotta be a genuine FP BB Black. Other than in your post, there has been no mention of Owens Development in this thread whatsoever.

There is another thread, started by tscompusa2(I think?)somewhere on this subforum about a non-FP BB Black though. Maybe that is what you are thinking about.

^yep, and Aaron answered too. This was a DBB Black from FP, via SpecOps (thanks Mikey!), installed/tested by the magicians/dark lords/general Scotch loving folk at English Racing (thanks Jake and Aaron!)

^I believe Aaron said he would share the news with everyone except Ramses. I might have misheard that as the shop was loud with the tearing apart of BBQ pork jerky.
