2.3l pte5857 e85

Finally got my car on the dyno this past weekend. 5 hr drive down to Topspeed in Atlanta from Fort Campbell TN/KY area. Luckily my parents live in Atlanta so I had to place to sleep for a few hours and leave my pups occupied. Build thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/al...tle-build.html

The car:
2005 Evo 8
2.3L AMS kit ross pistons, oliver rods, OEM 4G64 crank
BR stage 3 head
kelford 272
BR ported intake manifold
BR ported throttle body
SpoolinUp COP

PTE5857 .82 A/R
STM FF manifold
custom 3" exhaust
custom 2.5" LICP
ETS 2.5" UICP
Tial BOV
ETS 4" FMIC
Hallman MBC

double in-tank Walbro 255
ID2000 injectors
E85

Shep trans 4.11FD
AEM wideband
ECU Flash

JohnBradley aka Aaron@English Racing tuned

car was tuned to 40 psi. The owner of Topspeed was a little scared to try to hit 40 psi right off the bat so we turned it down to 22 psi and worked our way back up. But for some reason, it did not want to hit 40 psi again. Would not go over 35 psi. So this is the 35 psi pull. Car hit 35 psi @ 4437 RPMs in 3rd and 3968 RPMs in 4th.

Dyno chart is 3rd gear

Here is the video of the pull
http://youtu.be/Vb4O14m4IIs

Here are two street pulls on VD. One is 36 psi with only me (150 lbs) and the other is 40 psi with a passenger (285 lbs total)

previous numbers
basic bolt ons and BC 272 93 oct 340/333 @ 23 psi
bolt ons and shearer T3 kit 50trim 93 oct 403/340 @ 25 psi
bolt ons and shearer T3 kit 50trim E85 498/421 (i think) @ 30 psi
bolt ons and shearer T3 kit PTE5857 E85 533/424 @ 30 psi *the 22 psi run netted me 520/418 with the new setup

Pretty impressive. What rpm did this setup make peak torque?

Are you talking about the taper or not hitting desired boost?

I didn't have problems hitting 40 psi until the dyno. Maybe it's time for a new boost controller.

I'm running the 14 psi combo. Exactly as is when I bought the T3 kit from shearer back in 2008.

It's normal for boost to drop on the dyno. But like I found out, you wana run at least half the spring pressure of ur Target boost.

I Jus left Campbell, I was on a black converted to external wg, 7psi spring would only get me 7psi, slowly since it opened so soon. So i jumped to 21psi spring and have been able to spool quicker and get my Target of 33-34psi

Yeah I need to up my WG spring. But that didn't cross my mind until after the tuning started. And I didn't want to delay because I wanted it done before I moved. When the next set of changes I'm definitely changing out the springs.

I'm sure I have a 35 psi log. Might be -/+ 2 psi.

I doubt I'll ever be back on the dyno with this turbo. 35 psi is a solid reference for this turbo. Just not worth spending a day to do a few pulls at this point.
