I have yet to see a MD read lower than mine, that's fact. This doesn't need to turn into a dyno thread though. For reference my full weight EVO8, Project White, on a red made about 520 and ran 138.xx mph about 10 runs in a row. 20 whp doesn't equal 6 mph.

to many variables into play to really compare them.. but based on what you just said it would seem they are about the same.. not entirely.. but close enough.

doesnt it bother anyone else that these pumps "wear out"? what happens when they wear out when you arent staring at afr's at 40 psi?

well what doesn't wear out in a car? pretty much everything does at one point or another. no way around it.

cant say i have had a fuel pump that slowly crapped the bed like that. i have had a walbro go bad though, but it was instant. thats why i dont use them anymore. to me a fuel system is not the place to go cheap, id rather spend a couple hundred more on a fuel system than a few thousand rebuilding an engine.

ya i don't know.. i never had it either.. im running a BR double pumper and it runs great.. .been running for almost 3 years now.. i guess if you run them to hard at really high HP it makes it run higher voltage and the motors wear down? i wouldnt know because i have a baby setup kind of compared to these guys.

You haven't tested them obviously. I've run every pump you can imagine in the last 23 years of doing this and the Walbro's are MORE reliable than anything else I've run. I've had ALL of them fail and most won't flow anywhere near what twin Walbro's do. Look back at the big DSport test they did and there are only a few pumps that can touch twin Walbro's, for thousands more that will fail too.

Ill agree that they are more reliable than many big singles like the fuelab, a1000 and even weldons. I cant see them being more reliable than an 044 though. 044's are great, just not as easy or cheap to setup.

Brushes can wear out in a pump which would cause high resistance and low performance. They don't have to completely fail all at once.

Pumps are going to be replaced. Going to run -8 line to the front of the car and -6 return. This should fix our fueling issues.

The #1 tech question that bothers me is fuel systems on these cars...

Buschur DP w/modded pumps

-6 feed to the front

Buschur (or other quality) rail..

DONE

The aforementioned setup will feed 99.9 percent of Evo's on here. It's good for 1000WHP on E85 on a Dynojet! What more could you ask for?!

If you need more, run a boost a pump on top of it....1300++ easy...

Just so you know, that 1000hp on a Dynojet is about 850hp on the Mustang dyno my car has been dynoed on. I have absolutely NO DOUBT this car will make at least 850 on this dyno, especially when we pull it in 4th gear. I think two modded Walbro 255lph pumps are iffy at that power level on E-85. At least, that's what our math tells us...

Awesome numbers on that dyno! I've had my car on it a few times.

Is this the evo that was traded for SI's supra?
