2.3l hta green VD 522/486

fp 73hta green 84mm cover
fp 25psi wg
gsc s2 cams with arp hs
map o2 dump
ebay tubular manifold
fic 1450 injectors
dw 300 fuel pump
omni 4 bar map and iat with spoolin up pnp harness
upper and lower intercooler piping
agp fmic
65mm mil.spec throttle body
spoolin up cop

stock 2.0 128k miles aug 2011

last fall unfortunatley the motor let go with about 3k on the setup. over past few months i've been collecting and here is what i added on top of parts listed above.

2.3l 9.0:1
wiseco pistons .020 over
eagle rods
oem 4g64 crank
acl bearings
exedy twin disc
arp l19 headstuds
egr block off plate
ferrea +1mm oversized valves
kiggly springs and retainers
ported intake mani
ported hotside
wingz double pumper with dw300 and wally 255 as back up
28psi on e85
tuned on speed density by phoung at Wingz Performance

put about 200 on it so far and all i can say is wow, the car is actually pretty scary. cruising around 3k and punching it feels like a n/a car. got a chance to virtual dyno it and very impressed with the results. few things to note is once fully tuned i will be around 35psi maybe higher. i'm running 4psi less than when i was on my stock 2.0 (was running 32) but making almost 50whp more and around 20tq. will still strap it to the dyno but this will give a rough figure.

2.3l april 2012

Sounds like an extremely fun setup. I'm not gonna lie.........I wasn't very surprised to see your stock motor letting go with that massive, fast hitting torque.

Im not pro, so I could be looking at it wrong, but doesnt it look laggy for an hta green on a 2.3? Your full boost is about the same as mine is with a 2.3/hta86 combo

look like a 3rd gear dynojet pull they usually look laggy so that's the stock motor one.. the second one is virtual dyno so that I wouldn't wager a guess

That awkward moment when you realized that you completely overlooked that...

it's because of the gs2's i'm pretty sure. if i put s1's in there it would help with the spool. also once broken in i'll be able to run more aggressive timing.

....Not so much. What's your preload look like? I spooled faster on a 2.0L/S2/35r combo.

Chew on this for a little while:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...27-ft-lbs.html

Although the peak power isn't typical, take note to the spool, which is very typical for a 2.3L/Green combo.

No that's just plain laggy for some reason. Possible boost leak? Or you need to put more pre-load on that wastegate.

Going to load up my 2.3L and FP Black Setup.
