BR's highest HP stock ECU EVO

We have a build we are doing here for Josh who's is currently serving overseas.

The build is an EVO9. Not 100% BR parts, which will come to a shock to the haters

The build is basically as follows:

BR 2.3RPM with our new BR only lightweight Manley Billet crank
BR Stage 3 head
Cosworth M2's
BR Race FMIC
2.5" upper i/c pipe
Tial BOV
BR standard facing, small runner T3 turbo kit with PTE6466 turbo
BR ported stock intake
BR 65mm throtttle body
Spooling up coil on plug
BR double pumper
ID2000cc injectors
AMS catback, 3"
Stock ECU, Omni 4 bar map sensor, AEM AIT
BR fuel rail

The car is a beast. I just love the 2.3's in the EVO's and the RPM engine is just bad ***, best engine I think we've ever offered. I'm running it in my own car. This car rev's like a sport bike.

The stock ECU, as many of you know, I stayed away from for a long time, longer than I should have. Then SD came and I stayed away from that for awhile as I saw crappy driving cars from too many known "good" tuners. I have yet to be impressed with the drivability of the stock ECU on SD.

This car came in with a base tune in it. I changed most of it through the process of tuning the car. I ran into a few glitches using someone else's ROM. One of which was the stupid boost timer, which I have turned up in my base files I use, this one was set stock and Aaron from English mentioned it and I slapped myself in the forehead for not thinking of it. So thanks for the wake up Aaron.

The car actually runs extremely well. This is the first SD tune I have seen that DOES NOT STALL at any time. It does have a slight hunt when the idle drops back down for a few seconds but beyond that drivability is outstanding.

This is the first time we used this turbo in a build. It was used because we couldn't get an HTA86 fast enough and needed to finish the car.

The turbo works well, very well. I am not done tuning the car yet but wanted to make this post about where it stands on the stock ECU so far.

Right now I am out of fuel. I can't tell if it's because the fuel lines have become a restriction or if it's something limiting me in the actual ROM but the car is running lean up top. I am much more comfortable tuning stand alones at this power level and after discussing it with Josh he wants to move to the AEM S2 on the car.

Bottom line is the car made 702 whp and 562 ft lbs at 40 psi of boost. The car is running on E70 from last year that was left over in the tank. The knock tables are 100% STOCK and the car has ZERO knock, ZERO. I still have the timing low as I have been sneaking up on the tune and fighting getting enough fuel in the car.

Next week the plan is to get the car on the dyno with the new AEM S2 in it and start over. I'd expect in excess of 750 whp when I am done, hell it may even make more than that if I wanted to lean on it! I'm figuring conservatively it's going to hit 750.

Here's the dyno sheet:

Wow great numbers David. Looks like it spool a bit later than your own 2.3RR HTA86 or was yours dyno'd in 4th?

Does look awsome! Be good to compare when your finished to the black drag car. Will it be on E85 next?

This is a single scroll .82, not sure if it will spool quicker on a twin scroll, probably will and then it will suck up top like the rest of them

I forgot about Paul's car but this is 3rd gear and I'm not done. Just running in fourth would have put it over the 715 mark easily, not to mention a small turn of the boost. I am simply out of fuel right now.

On a Dynojet, for comparison, this would make 793 whp at 40 psi. When I'm done with it, maybe I'll put this into Dynojet mode and see what kind of power it makes.

Yes, it will end up on E85 when I am done.

David I love that 2.3RPM definitely the best engine you have to offer.

Wow I thought for sure my mind was set on a built 2.0 but damn these 2.3 rpm motors keep shocking me. Great numbers with this new turbo.

I want that engine, I don't plan on running my 2.3L forever so may get it sooner or later. Would love to see some pump gas numbers on that car.

Wow, simply amazing. What kind of numbers do you think it'd make on 92? We don't have e85 readily available near me.
