what do you think id throw down?

Whats goin on guys? I have owned my evo for about a year now and have been upgradeing it since day one. Its an 03 evo 8. Im comming close to the point where i need a tune and i just want to make i have everything i need before i go. I currently have... megan exhaust mani, 02 housing, greedy turbo back, walbro 255, mbc, licp, 3.5" ic, and i have new hks 272's waiting to go in. Now ive done a ton of research but i could find anyone with this exact set up. What kind of whp do you think ill put down on a dynojet? What (rough estimate) quarter mile time would i put down? At what point do i need to do head studs? And is there anything else in your opinion i should change before i go for the flash? Thanks

If your still using the 9.8 cm hotside on the turbo I'd guess about 350 whp on around 26 psi. With that power headstuds aren't completely necessary but if you plan on running e85 or upgrading turbo's I would install the studs. At 350 whp that should be good for low 12's with some good driving.

Ok sweet, i ran a 13.4 @ 20lbs with just an intake, turbo back, mbc and cob ap, but i dont think it was set up right. I had to buy the cobb without the vacuum lines so i had to controll boost myself. My afr was lean as hell like 12.2 @ 6k rpm and it would drop to like 11.5ish by redline. Um my buddy has a set of kelford 272's hes tryin to sell, i was considering selling the hks 272's for them but im not sure if 1) their really that much better? And 2) if the valves would hit the top of the pistons with my stock springs? Id really like to get into the high 11's. I had a 94 rx7 before this 400rwhp ran 11.6. **** felt crazy! You think 380whp would break into the 11's? And would i need head studs at that point?

>30-32 psi do head studs (insurance purposes)
Kelford >>> hks
I would guess 340-365 on 93
Average driving likely 12.2-12.6 with a clean pass.

Sell the hks cams...you'll be fine on the valves with a stock turbo...no float or interference. I had a FD also ...evo made more sense for me.

Definitely go with a better set of cams. The Kelfords would be nice or get a set of GSC S1 or S2s. I would also recommend doing the headstuds now since they're already opening the head up to do the cams. It's good insurance and doing it now will save you money in the long run in case you change your mind later.
