Are you using the fp black as well or something larger? Im going to a t3 setup soon.

=====================

Installed this over the weekend.

I'm going to be releasing a new product to the community soon.. another driveshaft that is superior to anything available right now for the evo and lighter. around 25lb & superior hardware.

More on this later..

Can't wait to order that driveshaft. Just by looking you can tell the quality of this one superior to the AWD motorsports one from the pictures you sent me.

No sad face necessary you still have a nice one. 1lb isnt that much to be sad about. No matter what shaft you get, it should last the rest of the cars life.

It uses heavy duty spicer ujoints that are definitely strong. It definitely looks badass off the car, you seen the pics.. i will do a review on it soon once i get to abuse the car with it and get first impressions on what it changes in the car feel wise and performance wise.

heres a before & after with no tuning done for the s3 yet WOT.. the afr was around 12.8 uptop on the s3 so need to richen it out and might make even more.

i got a solid 40whp id say. it is very noticeable.

video of idle. 5min of ve tuning to dial in afr.. on direct swap the afr was 12's as opposed to the kelfords being 14-15.

Hey Tom,

Regarding your comparison here between the Kelfords and S3s, what would you say the hp difference is a little further in the RPMs on your setup, say at 8200 to 8500?

i have the shaft on my evo right now but i am experiencing a odd launch shutter WOT only. regular driving is normal. DSS told me its an angle issue.

stop and go, and just regular driving the car felt more snappier, rigged, solid, stiff.. it felt more defined per say.. but WOT i can feel i have something under the car turning.. maybe its not 100% balanced right.. so i have removed it and put the stock back on now for temp.

heres of pic of it:

i cant honestly answer that because i don't believe in 2byte RPM as being accurate enough to use.. therefore i can only see up until 7968.75rpm (the cut off in evoscan 1byte mut rpm).

i think you will see your peak gains at that rpm level though from a kelford vs a s3 comparison.. my curve reflects the same information as well.

sorry i did not even see this question until now.

Can i ask you (tscompusa), why did you go with the AWD Motorsports single aluminum drive shaft from the first time? I don't know if you already covered this topic or not. IF you did already ( Sorry)

this one has a longer aluminum shaft piece to it, which in turn makes it at least 1lb lighter. this one also uses stronger yolks.

EDIT: I put a new companion flange on the rear diff and put the stock driveshaft back on.. while the issue is fixed now WOT there is no more "launch shutter" or whatever the proper term is for what its doing, the stock shaft absolutely SUCKS..

now i am honestly thinking about putting on the aluminum again.. after you feel an aluminum shaft the stock one feels like total garbage just stop and go and decel and etc.. the stock shaft has so much drag to it and you can feel how much heavier it is vs the aluminum ones.

I am on a mission now to get this WOT shutter / pulseating feel fixed on the aluminum shaft.

Someone told me it is a angle issue and can be resolved.

=====================

UPDATE!!!!!!!!: Driveshaft place is sending me another one to test so i will update once i have that one installed. Might of just been a bad length on the first one.. it happens. to short of length (tight fit) will create a launch shudder feeling under heavy load.. ive been researching driveshafts all week and learned allot so far. talked to a lot of smart driveshaft people.

How is that new driveshaft?

What clutch are you running?

What mods done to the trans?

Looks like a fun car for sure!
