He did mention on Facebook that it was on waste-gate pressure so 25psi sounds right.

Glad you got it back together Eric, I know it has been a while since you have been behind the wheel of and evo, so I am sure it felt great!

Yeah for sure, if you say it by itself but if you say "boost" then if you're using English properly it's actually referring to the boost/gauge pressure - even if it's normally used for absolute... but that makes things add up a lot better. Very nice power

yeah 265kpa to be exact. 24.2psi of boost

Actually the Audi's use mbar... so it would be 2650mbar.

I ran 320kpa ~32psi and it made just over 600whp... but I have a boost leak. Soooooo I'm waiting for some new Viton O-rings for the Pegasus clamps. Wouldn't you know, the legit Adel Wiggins clamps seal perfectly...and the Ebay knockoff ones leak. :P So I'll pressure test to 40psi, change the oil, spend some time on the MIVEC timing and the exhaust cam timing (adjustable, but not variable) Sometimes I miss the dual variable cam in the Audi's. The S2's definitely hurt power up top relative to the S3's, but I'm pleased with how well mannered they are otherwise.

You put ebay stuff on your car??

32 psi at peak power? Must be a bad boost leak because Martin's Evo was making 700+ whp at 32 psi out the top.

I'm having R2s installed in a few weeks. I like your idea of putting on an adjustable cam gear on the exhaust cam. I think I'll do that.

yeah both O-rings on both couplings leak (so four total). When I boost leak test it, it's evacuated within about 1 second after removing shop air. McMaster to the rescue! Thus it's a break in tune and I didn't push my luck. Just wanted it to be safe.

To explain the Ebay clamps... i paid $340 for 2 2.5" Adel clamps. Then I was googling for deals on more 3" Adel clamps for the UICP and I ran across the Pegasus clamps. They got a good review from TonyTheTiger (Honda-tech member) he has a ITB high compression turbo Integra, MKIV Supra, a Toyota Camery (sp?) with a 67mm turbo on it. He uses these on a lot of projects so I jumped on them for $50 a joint.

So we'll see how it does all sealed up. I was looking at Martin's results and seeing 32-33psi at peak power. But mind you that's S3's on a 2.4L. So make that S2's and a 2.2L and I will probably need 36-40psi to hit that same number. But we'll see... it is an Evolution after all
