evo 8 FP Green hta - 92oct

Not a whole lot of 92octane tunes posted, so figured id share this one before i forget and it gets lost in my other pile of cars folders.

This car went 11.916 @ 119.53 with 420whp last year and he came back with more mods and lower octane fuel. its Hawaii 92 octane. This is good 92 octane, he has filled with other 92oct and the car knocked, so thats how i know the 92 hes got in there now is pretty good 92 octane gas.

He asked for an aggressive tune.. basically whatever i could squeeze out of the car down low even if it sacrificed top end, so i shot the boost up and let it naturally drop off similar to a mbc.

The only thing i did differently, was delay the spool curve to further push the peak tq out into the powerband closer to 4k to keep the engine happy.

Below are the mods & results

Stock Block & Head
FP Green 73HTA ported with forge actuator
Invidia O2 housing
MAP ported exhaust manifold
MAP ported intake manifold (New mod)
Milspec 65mm ported throttle body (New mod)
Invidia downpipe and test pipe
Works ABM catback
GSC S1 cams
Fic Bluemax 1250cc injectors
Injen intake kit with Perrin filter
ETS 4" intercooler
Nisei lower intercooler pipe
Synapse BOV
Walbro 255 HP modded
Grimmspeed 3 port
Omni 4bar map sensor
Tephra v7 (MAF + Ecuboost)

Graph:

-------------------------------------

heres his old runs from last year without the MAP ported intake manifold or MIL.SPEC 65mm throttle body compared to his new 92oct tune.

E85 tune was done back in 3-19-2011 along with the 93oct tune. Blue line titled (New 92oct tune is now)

As i was tuning him he described the car as.. 'it feels like it did on the e85 tune, but it falls off uptop more'
and he was dead on by saying that. the comparison shows he was 100% correct.

injector duty cycle was 100-104% on the e85 tuning from the logs i have here.. must of been before the pump was modded..
unless this is the max the pump was able to flow even modded? I'm not sure. were talking about a tune that was from almost 2 yrs ago.
So we lowered the boost, but i wanted to share what it maxed out at for reference for others.

Thanks again Tom! You always produce great tunes. The car has been quicker than that 11.9 run for a long time now but I get lockout with my ACT clutch in the higher rpms. The first pass is normally good but its all down hill after that. I also thought about upgrading to S2 but didn't think it would be worth it since there is no dragway here. Most likely will swap out everything when I get back to the mainland in a year.

do you have a full clutch line? i put in the STM master to slave line and high rpm shifting is easy

10% ethanol is good stuff. that helps. I don't know the answer to the s1 vs the s2 in regards to the fp green hta.. maybe 10-20whp?

No problem! we need to get higher octane gas in this, and ill give you much better power like before!

i didn't know it went quicker than 11.9. ya just let me know ill give you good prices on anything you need.

Edit: check out the comparison i threw up from last years e85 and 93oct numbers vs the now 92oct..
