That's what I figured. I've tuned above 45psi on E70 and it still reached MBT without detonation. Just thought I would ask why it was so rich.
Ya we are definitely on the same page. i did misread it then.

ya anything 70% and over is pretty potent. yep no problem i understand.

i'll get that done then. we just ran 40psi through the car and it made really good power. its holding solid till redline. im thinking im gonna just bump the boost mid range and raise it as the RPM's go up that way he can actually still use the car in 3rd gear and not roast tires off.

Target boost pressure will be 44psi for this application once finalized in the upper rpm's.

Tq curve was a solid curve sitting right around 600wtq so the car is definitely going to move out.

I have R2's here i could send him, but i doubt he will want to change cams again. but i'd definitely let him borrow them to test out if he really wanted to.

We did a straight swap to s3's from s2's and they were 300rpm difference in spool at the same boost level.
Do you time cams or fit with stock pulleys

I installed these with stock pulleys. I pulled the S2's out, installed the S3's, then Tom sent me a rom with less boost to make a pull. I pretty much made similar power numbers on the first rom and lost very little spool. We could pick up plenty of power mid-range by increasing the boost levels with the grimmspeed, but I blow the tires off with anything more aggressive.

I can brake boost around 70mph and spin tires the rest of the way through 3rd. Old asphalt roads will often spin in 4th. It is a fun car!

My two options are the S3 and the R2 cams. Time will tell.

Both work really well. The R2 have about the same top end as the S3 almost.

GSC lists their data and I think kelford does also. I dont know the answer to that question though.

I will also add though, that both set of cams were not degree'd and installed straight up.

You had to throw that second "almost" in there, huh?

1800-2000rpm idle is ridiculous. There is no good reason for that.

The size of the head would have no affect on idle rpm. There's no reason you cant idle your car around 1000-1200RPM.

Even when i ran my car with no FMIC on it with both pipes open and exposed to the atmosphere my idle was still rock solid at 1100RPM on s3's.

Heres a video of that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...GVcRHJE8#t=202

With Mivec they can idle even smoother also. My car is non mivec.

So for us 2.0 guys s2's would be the better choice or suffer serious lag.

Pretty noticeable lag yes. If you are concerned with spool up you certainly do not want s3 cams with a 2.0L
