I look at the fp black like a gateway entrance to larger turbos. past the fp black and ef4 theres nothing else left but the big boys.

Seems to me like the older Journal Bearing FP Blacks are performing a little bit better then the BB versions????

no, but the JB are reliable when proper oil is ran through them. but in no way are they anything like the new ball bearing ones being sold now as far as reliability and transient response goes.

^

Sure they may not be viewed as 'reliable' as the BB nor match the transient response.. But the results seems to speak for themselves. Every FAST FP Black car seems to be running the old style JB CHRA...

Its just a coincidence Tonba. I have a lot of customers on ball bearing FP Blacks that make big #'s. (its the same wheels/turbine housing etc). I also went from a Journal to a BB and practically ran so much boost the thing should have self destructed, but the ball bearing was indestructible. It stayed together with 48-50psi boost spikes.

Going from a journal to BB is a huge difference also. the car was much more fun to drive than journal. it responded so much faster and was just in general a different car.

Congrats on the numbers! I am running my black at a lousy 22psi, seriously under the efficiency range for this turbo. way to go.

wait till you see what it makes on 93 oct. we are getting it ready here for 93 soon.

22psi if its holding at higher RPM is not to bad really for the fp black. 28psi would feel much better though.

my personal goal for this car on 93 is 580whp on the dynojet. we will see.

My lack of double pumper is my limiting factor right now. Have the Black, Bushur 2.0L, 272s, and FIC1450. Good luck and keep us posted!

These are the numbers I'm shooting for this spring with my new build. I have a BB FP Black though.
