Walbro 400 idle issues?

So I'm getting ready to get tuned by a local tuner for a base tune but after he found out i had a Walbro 400 he refused to tune my car. he told me he won't tune it unless i get a double pumper??? he said something about them not being consistent at idle?
has any one had these issues? this is the first time i have heard of it..,

Put an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator on it.

Find a new tuner. They work the same as the 255.

400 with an FPR should work just fine.

I have a 450 installed without siphon nor afr and rides great. Don't know why he can't tune it.

walbro 400 on factory wiring is fine at idle. no bueno with a full time full voltage rewire. doesn't matter if the siphon has been drilled or if an afpr is used. there will be overrun at idle. it flows way too much.

Ya the walbro 400 is fine. I notice your location says California. If its FF you know what then the tuner is rather picky there. He also refused GSC S3 cams on a 2.4 and the person emailed me asking how im running those cams on my 2.4 because he was told they were to big for the engine. I was rather surprised.

I do prefer a double pumper over a 400 though. that is just my personal preference though. When tuning 400's the fuel map is going to need a lot of fuel taken out early then as you go higher in the RPM you richen it. the map shape looks a little odd, but that's about it.

Also it seems to be good for about 570-580 in VD and then its out of fuel on most cars i work with on it. Even with 2150cc inj and 2.0L. However every car can and will be slightly different!

But as long as its installed properly and it seals up normal it should work just fine.

I wouldn't say insane numbers but very cool info. Since my base pressure is set to 58 psi, I may pull my pump to do this.
