Unfortunately its not the same do to one car being a stock gear car and the other being a dogbox.

Here is the 7285 on that same car though -

The reason the time plot doesnt work is because 4th is 1:1 and it has a custom final drive. Try making a pull in 5th gear and you get a rough idea of what its going to do. Here is the dyno sheet -

9-10* of timing to keep the engine happy at full power over the 1/2 mile. The 7175 was at 13* for reference.

No issues with 10* toasting the exhaust valves?

I have my doubts about AEM timing numbers even when it has been sync'd properly but the EGTs are not out of sorts. Jeff ran 10* at 55psi for the 8.20 actually and we had EGT under 1600. 4G63 tend to be pretty forgiving on E85 in comparison to the 4B11.

@JohnBradley
Reason I ask for time on the x-axis, is that it easier to compare spool. A long ramp time say 250 rpm/s will give a much more impressive spool/power graph vs a 500 rpm/s. I know you said earlier that you could not set the ramp time on your dyno, that why I was curious about ramp time. There should be an industry standard in ramp time for comparing spool

Just out of curiousity, is there a specific reason that most of you US-tuners dont use hub-dynos?
Here in Norway, I think we have more hub-dynos than roller-dynos..

The only hub dyno I am aware of only is good to 1000whp. They also take far longer to setup than a chassis roller dyno, in the land of high production it isnt feasible. Strapping 6 cars a day on the dyno is enough of a work out.

The Dynapacks have been good for well over 1000whp - Heat Treatments racing Skyline GTR was running 1600+awhp on a Dynapack, from memory though they did end up going to being tuned on an engine dyno. The Mainline dynos are awesome, though I am guessing their Pro Hub dyno is hugely expensive - not to mention space needs!

I didnt realise that Mainline made a hub dyno. I was just going off what SpeedFactory told me about their hub dyno and the fact that they use a Dynojet to tune their race car on. Interesting information but it still comes back to production. I can tune 6 cars a day on a standard chassis dyno where I think a hub dyno would drop me down to 3 or so.

Yes I do see what you mean, and you have to choose what you feel is the best for you. I have no chance to tune 6 cars a day. Normally I do alot of different brand vehicles from small 600cc NA engines to 700cid twin turbo V8 (maxed out my though...), and I only tune 1 car each day so time used to setup the car to the Dynapack is not an issue for me.
If I mainly had 4wd cars like Evos/Subaus running say Ecuflash, I feel a roller dyno would be the right choice.

Have seen dyno operators struggling to strap high hp cars, people in trunk to get traction etc. Not an issue with hub-dynos

I'd be a nervous wreck to be the guy getting in the trunk of a Godzilla Supra or GTR lol or any other big HP car
