AFR is 14.0-14.7 for the most part. A richer idle will smooth out most aftermarket cams. Timing/IAC motor were also adjusted .

They are seated. The engine's been built and ready to go for 6 months so I'm very patient . I just got the car running on Christmas eve so I'm able to wait a week or two for results. Hopefully the weather gets cooler as its 85* out right now.

The winter in Fl is terrible

Yes it will. I can smooth mine out if I have it idle in open loop at around 13.5. But that pretty much requires almost daily adjustment to keep idle AFR in the same range, so I just leave it in closed loop. I'm sure the added VE from the stroke helps smooth them out some too. Also depends on your mivec settings at idle. You can get the cams pretty smooth with that, I forgot you have a 9.

Just passed 500 miles. Been busy with work and Bachelor parties .lol Just mixed my first tank of 93/E85 an hour ago. Unfortunately I'm only up to E66. There is some E98 here so I should be able to add a gallon or two to bring the Ethanol content up.

I'm on the 18psi forge actuator now and will need to put the 25lb FP unit on for max numbers.

Should get some numbers at 29-30lbs and E70-E80ish soon. I'd like to get a good comparison with similar boost/fuel before going back on the E85/C16 Cowboy mode. Car feels pretty good just driving around so I'm looking forward to what it lays down.

Looking forward to cowboy mode. On the bright side, I am finally getting my assembly balanced along with the clutch/flywheel.

Can't wait to get my HTZ BB Red on...

Its been a busy few weeks. Jay Meagher tuned the car and it makes about 60whp more now then the stock engine at 27psi/30psi/33psi. Its got a really nice fat powerband. Spools a few hundred rpm quicker as well. The Wannagofast event is this weekend so time has been hard to come by getting cars ready for that. A quick 30 min session tonite.. Still more tuning to do but it runs good!
E85
27psi =530whp It used to make 470whp on the stock engine

E85/C16 mix since my fuel system needs to be rewired/ get bigger injectors.
30psi= 570whp
33psi=600whp
34psi =613whp

These runs were started at 2700ish and the Red didn't seem to want to make more then 25psi before 4400. I'm going to run the car at the wannagofast 1/2 mile this weekend from 530 on up. The car feels pretty fast and pulls the 4.11 gearing very well now.

Run 11 was 25-39psi on the stock engine/cams
Run 22 is the RSP 2.2

Nice. You have 400+ foot pounds of torque from 4,000 to 8,000 rpms. And 500 from 5,000 to 6,000.

That has got to be plenty fun

very interesting back to back. there were at least five major changes from what I see.
2.0 - 2.2
8.8 comp - 10.0
stock - S2 cams
stock - ported head.
no need to limit tq on tune

makes it hard to know exactly what did what. the low TQ gains were completely expected from 1st and 5th changes. more power at less boost is completely expected from raised comp. the eye brow gets raised so far the power curve from 6500-8000 is nearly identical. albeit less boost by 5psi. so far so good. lets see it at 39psi!

hows ring seal on new block? any problems with blowby? I/C pipes still dry?

As much as I like data and changing one thing at a time I wasn't going to apply that to the new engine. As far as the 6500-8000 goes, My first thought is back pressure since this is the same small turbo on a bigger engine. It will be run again as time permits but for now its pretty stout.
I'm going to look over the data but the last run was 34psi tapering to 31st after 7200.

Ring seal is good, The custom pistons have some features to help with ring seal and the engine is tight.

How much porting did you do to the hotside? A lot? A little? In the middle?

Had boost creep with the stock engine so only the wastegate port was polished. Seems like the red is done around 600whp or so. I need to measure backpressure. The logs show the boost falling after 7400 from 34-32

Back to back tests from stock to ported stock, to skunk 2. Stock works real well for 500whp and around town snap.
Mitsubishi knew what they were doing .
