I’m definitely getting displacement envy with only having parts for a 2.2l 4G64 in my Evo VIII. Thinking of going to mivec head too to help with improving daily drivability.

I would definitely recommend going MIVEC as it makes a world of difference in terms of drivability as well as spool. Also, many parts for the platform are coming to end of life. So get it before they become non existent.
Remember to mod the Intake MIVEC gear to retain full 28.8 degrees of adjustment for the 4G64.
