Evo Cam idle tuning.

Hey guys hows it going?

So I think this might of been asked on here a lot in the past but I just can't seem to like get any info on this.

So I'm trying to tune my idle on my evo which is fully built and everything. Sure I get an agresive Cam or lope idle at around 1000 to 1100 rpms but I've seen cars with the same cams (kelford 272) idling super high like at around 1200- 1400 and they lope fast and beefy. I kinda want that. xD. Right now my idle is on open loop targeting 15.3 AFR and at 8* of timing.
Also, a few years ago my MAF stopped working (I'm on a SD tune at the moment) but if I tried to maintain a steady 1500 rpm with the gas pedal it would lope super hard and fast but with Afrs around 11 and 12 even 10 but damn it loped hard. Kinda want that. Haha.

I could give examples but I'm pretty much new to this website.

Thanks in advance!

I don't understand what you are asking for.
You want your car to idle at 1500rpm? You just have to set your target minimum idle in the rom then probably set the BISS screw with evoscan to 1500rpm

I am not sure why you want it to idle that high. I am running 280 cams and happy to idle at 1000rpm

You don't need to change the idle to get the "loping" sound that many want. The correct timing changes at low rpms relative to the cams will achieve the same outcome. Find someone who you trust to make that change and go from there.

Generally the goal is minimize idle lope as it is an indication that the engine wants more fuel. AFR is typically inaccurate at idle due to over lap allowing fresh air to pass through the engine.

But for what you want, idling in closed loop with about the timing you have at 1100rpm gets a pretty aggressive lope.

The off idle lope you're describing with some throttle to hold 1500-1600rpm is a tune issue.
