No that would be useless. You never put different size speakers in the same box. It doesnt work that way. Plus if you use 6x9's in the trunk you wouldnt be able to hear the higher frequencies. Just say no.

no, you would probably loose much more than you would gain. If your going to run a real sub don't mess with 6X9"s. Just put the stock sized 6.5" speakers in the stock locations.

No single 12 can move anywhere near as much air as 2 12"s... So not fact.
I work for the largest JL retailer in the nation, and even i outsourced for Image Dynamics woofers.

Fyi

6 1/2 and 6 3/4 will not fit without some sort of adapter.

The guy on ebay has good adapters, the acutal size seems to be a 7" european Din size.

+1 for that. No replacement for displacement. In some home and car applications people use a 'passive radiator'. It's kinda like a subwoofer that is not powered and is there to move more air which means more SPL(sound pressure level) which is good for bass. Go big and get 3 jl 12w6v2 for high SPL and good sound quality.

get a good set of 6 1/2" components for the front, you wont hear the rear speakers as much as the fronts.

JL makes very good subs, and amps! all depends if you can afford it....
