Hey everyone,

after countless searches and asking bolsen himself I am still left with no answer. Im hoping someone here can chime in and help. I have been wanting to make my evo IX gauges brighter but removing the cluster than taking the condoms off of the bulbs. BUT, there are two wiring harness's on the back of the cluster that I cant seem to get off, they are to deep in to get a good grip with your fingers. And im afraid to just pull on them by the wires because i don't wannt rip out a wire. Is there something I'm not seeing, somekinda clip or release button?

Buy a Evo manual.....shows you eveything you need to know, even where the harness clips are.

 

I cant remember for sure but I think I didnt even unplug the cluster when I took them off. I think I just reached back there and took the bulbs out.

 

In the bolsem mod it says you have to take it completely out inorder to unscrew the back. I can't seem to find any kind of release clip

 

there is a locking clip on the top of each of them. push down on them and they go right out.

 

where is the clip located? on the back housing?

 

yes where the harness mates to the cluster...its more like a tab to unlock it...

You dont even need to pull it all the out. You can just bring it out enough to stick your hand and twist out the bulbs. Thats what I did...

 

I got it out, funnything was only 1 of the 3 bolbs had blue condoms, the other two had whiteones on there that were glued on, i scrapped them off with a knife, it looks awesome. thanks ST for all your help.

 

so do they still look amber just brighter? i tried to find a thread with pics but i couldnt find one. i wanna see how they look or how bright they are after taken out. can anyone show me some pics?

 

come look at mine, takes all of 5 mins to do.

 

haha i didnt know that was ur name on here jb...if it looks better ill take ur word and just do it...just dont want it to look all bright orange
