Talking Finally! An OEM ipod adapter!

http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/catalog/?section=541

Anyone tried it yet? Does it work for the ipod nano? I wonder if it's for our stock headunits. I hope it also charges the ipod too...

If everything checks out...I think a omfg is in order!

Ummm, that is a nano in the picture. And I would imagine the link to the installation guide would probably tell you whether or not it will charge the unit too...

link doesn't work

Edit:
I just called my parts guy at mitsu and he faxed me some info on the adapter.

"The only adapter designed specifically for mitsubishi audio systems. The adapter is manufactured with a hard-wire shielded cable for better audio sound quality.
once the iPod and adapter are connected, the the iPod becomes fully functional throught the radio's audio controls.
While the iPod and adapter are in use, the iPod is concurrently being recharged for personal use once it's disconnected from the vehicle.
The iPod adapter is covered by factory warranty.
For older Mitsubishi vehicle, with a remote CD changer, a special wireing harness is available for purchase to connect the iPod unit."

Great Info! Do you know which Ipods it will work for? The only reason I ask is b/c the picture shows a nano, but the instructions booklet shows the old Ipod...and it's not specified in that booklet.

I'm also confused on the price...500whp.com is selling for $160 and the link I gave is selling it for $30

This only works with OEM head units with the 13p (AKA changer) input on the back.

its a POS...south coast mitsu installed one for me...it was soo hard to control it with the stock head unit since all the stock headunit shows is numbers..

i got sick of it and installed a sweet alpine headunit that was acually alot cheaper than the OEM set up and looks and sounds 10x's better, you can acually scroll through the artists/songs through the head unit unlike the OEM unit

yeah dude. in my last vehicle i dropped a bunch of money on a monster icruze just so I could connect my iPod to the factory head unit. what a joke, it worked ALRIGHT but it was a real hassle to use. This time around i replaced my head unit with a pioneer with the ipod link. its 10000x better. the evo factory head unit is a junker anyways, theres no reason to keep it around. i could understand keeping it if you had like a nice bmw head unit with navigation or something built in

If its 160 for all the stuff needed to get it to work you might as well spend 240 and get a new head unit that works for both Ipods and Bluetooth. Then you can talk to people through your radio. You would look like james bond to any one riding with you but like a complete moron to anyone that saw you in your car talking to yourself.
