How is the HU staying on? Did you use the brackets that came with the panasonic hu?

From what I'm gathering, you didnt screw it down?? If so, I would definitely use the brackets from the stock HU. It might wiggle now, but the last thing you need is the HU flying out of the dash ! The brackets should match up the sides of the pan HU. Then bolt it down to the dash, like the way the stock was. The brackets should fit the 4 mounting holes in the dash. Use all the screws from the stock hu.

headunit

I just mounted a panasonic head unit.

My RS came with the two side brackets that take four screws, but no radio.

You need to screw them to the Panasonic, if your is like mine they need 5mm screws about 8mm long, stock head unit screws might work, but don't force them.

Two rubber bumpers engage the back of the brackets. Those plus the four screws in front make a good mount.

Like the previous posts mentioned, do not leave the unit just floating in the dash, very unsafe.

The DIN sleeve that comes with the panasonic is not needed with the Mitsu brackets. It should be removed and left in the box.

I mounted a CQ-C8803U in the manner I described above. Works fine.

one note with the brackets, be really careful screwing them out of the stock head unit. They use this 800lb gorilla to tighten down the screws, and I managed to strip the head of the screw trying to unscrew it. I ended up having to dremel a slot into the screw head and use a flathead screwdriver to get it out.

^^^ LOL yea i stripped 2 of them i was pissed off... i checked out the headunit today and I can pull it out maybe 1 inch but after that, theres just no way its coming out. I think i'll put the brackets later on, the thing about my headunit is u can only put 1 screw for each bracket

I found that using a power drill/screwdriver works better than trying to do it by hand for these guys. Unfortunately it was after i busted that first screw.
