Motion Sensor
If you tint your windows it is not very effective. I would prefer the glass breakage sensor unless you have a convertible which is mainly what the motion sensor is for. If you are not going to tint your windows then proximity is effective.
lol, your thinking of a proximity sensor most likely. problem with them is that if the wind blows or there is rain/thunder, and when the weather changes, it can be a huge PITA... ive got one on mine, and i am about to rip it out... Ill stick with the sensor it comes with and my 2 way responder!

sblvro, do you have tinted windows? It seems to work well for you.
When I had it installed, it falsed all the time, even when I had the sensitivity turned all the way down. I got tired of hearing those 4 chirps all the freaking time.

the 508D is a dual mode proximity sensor that you can adjust. rain, thunder weather changes don't affect it. putting your hand near the windshield or standing nearby will send a warn away signal or if you connect to voice warning(viper alarm stand back!). if your window is open and they extend their arm inside, it will start a full alarm status. the shock sensor is the one sensitive to weather changes, thunder, etc.
yes, that proxy is adjustable, but its a pita when you have to adjust it. i install these things all the time, and have noticed them getting more sensitive when it is colder. my alarm goes off every time there is thunder. it cant judge the difference between vibrations from thunder and someone touching the car. thats why people's alarms go off when people with loud systems/exhausts drive by.

I agree. proxys are for convertibles. it will go off even if someone just walks by your car. and they might even get annoyed and key it or something.
