If you are towards the Jacksonville/St.Aug area I could help you install the system.

Im confused about installing the heavy guage wires. Are these wires just Taped into the existing wires? Can someone give me a breakdown of the connection to the igntion? Please use references such as if i cut the entire harness there will be the plug side and other side. Thanks in advance

The door trigger and the domelight supervision wire are the same wire regardless of where you find it. It is down there cuz that's where I got it. I don't really remember it being black but at the same time I don't remember what color it is. I'll try to remember to take a look later today.

It is not black/white.

Use the door trigger wire in the driver kick. This wire will turn to ground when you open any door.

You can also use a relay to switch ground if your alarm has dome light supervision on disarm on the same wire.

^^So therefore everyone who utilizes this wire will have the door ajar light up in the dash since it is going to ground even though the doors are not open being they are all tied together? This is what my experience is using that wire.

pretty much yes. That's why you need to put the diode between your domelight supervision wire and the door trigger so you can isolate the two. Or you can try going up to the domelight itself with domelight supervision and wire it to whatever wire the switch up there uses since the door ajar light in the dash doesn't light when you manually turn on the domelight. You'd need to wire in both lights, or whichever one you choose. See what I'm saying?

Going to the domelight will trigger false alarms. The body control module will pulse that wire every so often to detect if the light is on. This is why it can turn itslef off after 30 minutes or whatever it is to conserve battery power. Car manufacturers have been doing this since the mid to late 90's, this is why an installer has to use door triggers, not the domelight itself when installing an alarm.

You want touse the green wire for your door trigger and dome light supervision. You will use a relay off the alarm to trigger the domelight to come on when you press unlock. There is no diode needed in this case because you will not get the feedback when you use a relay.

Care to explain the relay setup with a wire by wire explanation?

I didn't know that about the pulsing. I do remember now having false/random alarm issues with the domelight wire (it's been awhile).

Johnjon, the relay is the correct way to do it. The diode idea should have worked, but you should pretty much always run DLS with a relay. Sorry about that. Like I said, it's been awhile.

Ok rethinking this I think I have the correct relay layout.. Common wire will be the white door trigger wire...
input wire will be the alarms domelight wire
resting wire 87a will be the alarms door trigger input
Switched wire 87 will be ground...

I did not use a relay for the door. the remote can only lock and arm it but unable to unlock it but able to disarm it. I guess I need a relay too but it works for me so far.

85 - 12 volts
86 - dome light supervision from alarm
87 - ground
87a - n/a
30 - door trigger

You can also splice the door trigger input for the alarm to #30
