Need some security input
Just last night the kid downstairs from me had his Integra stolen which got me worried. Despite our keys being chipped I've heard of them being stolen. How worried should I be? I have the immobilizer but I'm guessing that doesn't do much. I'm just worried about it getting stolen or the idiots breaking my window, trashing my interior and stealing my gauges. Should I not sweat it getting stolen and just pick up an alarm with glass sensors? Just don't want to deal out $500 or more for a good alarm.

Sadly, thats what you will be spending on a nice setup. I run the python 881xp, and have had no complaints. Alarm took me about 8 hrs to install, with 4 sirens. I am picky when it comes to cleanliness of installs so, it may take you less time.
Python makes great systems as they are a DEI company, the only difference between them and viper, is the number of alarm inputs for different accessories.
If they want something bad enough, they will get it, but most people who see and blinking LED, its enough to keep them away. Any questions i am open to PM's or IM's.

A flatbed truck will get around any immobilizer, so if they want it bad enough there going to get it. If you do decide to lay the money down I would recommend something from DEI (Python, Viper, Clifford, etc...). Just shop around and find out which one is going to suit your needs feature wise, and make sure the install is done right.
Thanks guys. The guy at tweeters said to do the viper 7900. i think he said 400 or 500 installed. is that a decent price?

with after market alarms, pay more attention to the install- 99% of alarms are just thrown up (zip tied) under the driver dash, or in the driver kick panel. Ask your installer to spend some time to remove extra panels to make the install hard to remove. (for car thieves) TIME is a thieves enemy.

Good decision on the alarm, finding the right installer is a hard thing to do. Being in the business my self, the tweeter location should have MECP installers. Find him and have him to a good job. Good price btw, thats what i would charge installed.
Which alarm eher you referring to the viper7900 or compustar?
My buddies own probably the best install shop in CT. High Fidelity in Newington. The shop is located right off the Berlin turnpike. Both owners used to work at Tweeter. The one who installs is a graduate of the Ritop school in Mass. Another gentleman there is also an instructor. You won't find a better shop anywhere in the state. If you need remote start installed, you will have to purchase a compustar manual transmission safe model. They will not connect any other remote start unit in a manual obviously for legal reasons. Pm me for details and contact info. The mods around here are strict on posting those things.
i never invested in an alarm or anything like that. i know if someone wants to steal my ****, that an alarm wont stop them. unless of course u had that one thats illegal here and shoots fire out from the sides.. then it be GAME OVER for them...LOL
