Radiator Fan Issues on an IX

hey guys, hope this is the correct area to post my question or.. about the problem i'm having, but here it goes...

long story short, i messed up my stock radiator & fan, replaced the radiator, and decided to pick up a quick fan from autozone(or was it pep boys?).. the fan came with the usual, blue and black wires.. which i then spliced to the stock fan plug. plugged it in to the control box, and nothing.. i've since then (2weeks now?) been driving with it.. and still nothing.. the fan has yet to come on..

so today, i decided to start working on my car again, after an extended break after the radiator mishap, and i'm tryin to figure out wth is up with the fan.. ran the wires to that battery and low and behold.. the first time the fan's spun since i bought it.. wth do i do?! plz help!! thanks in advance..

btw, ive searched and found that ya a lotta ppl with 03's and such had issues with the fan, and got it swap'd out by mitsu, but.. i dont think warranty will cover it since i've spliced into the stock harnesss plug (one that plugs into the control unit), and i'm obviously not running the same fan.. any ideas, if you guys think it's the control unit, as to how much that unit will run me?

I've had the control box go bad on me so maybe thats your problem. An easy way to get the fan to come on is to turn the temp control knob to AC max and fan to 4. It should come on almost instantly if its working properly.

It should definately be coming on. My stock fan has always gone on and off on and off on off on off. I counted one time at a mcDonalds drive through. It switched 7 times in about 3 minutes!! (with the AC on about 3). No overheating problems or anything though. Just a loud fan.
