how many have dynamat in trunk?

I just got my car back today and the trunk rattles like crazy...especially the bumper section. What kind of results can I get from using dynamat... eliminate 80% of the rattle?

Cheers

Well if you put it in the right places, it will deff be worth the price. Check ebay, you should be able to get a trunk kit for around $50 shipped, and it will make a big difference. Your bass will sound much louder and clearer, and the rattle should be virtually eliminated.

Well when I helped a friend Dynamat his car we covered the stuff down by the spare tire, the parts around the keyhole on the trunk and some of the side walls (this was a jetta though, not an evo). I would say after those basic areas just turn the subs up a little and look around/listen for areas that rattle and cover them up.

I also forgot to mention that that dynamat will be kind of heavy, but if you want, you can get dynamat extreme which would only add like 31 lbs for the WHOLE car, or dynamat _________??(cant think of the name) which is only 11 lbs for the whole car, but kind of costly. The best price to noise reduction/weight ratio imo would be fatmat, it's like 23 lbs for the whole car and can be had for $100 + shipping!

dynamat is definitely nice but burton is right go on ebay or somewhere and get fatmat, it did just as good of a job and cost me 100+shipping for 100sq ft that would cost you like 300 or more for dynamat. i did this to my 03 tiburon and i had a 147 dec system and you could barely hear anything rattle outside.

Look into Raamat as well. Performs better than dynamat with a lot cheaper price tag. Dynamat is just flat out overpriced. Consider double layering the sound deadening as well.

STAY AWAY FROM FATMAT!!! Their website will take your order...and then they'll never respond. I placed an order back in the middle of May and had to file a claim with my credit card in July to stop the payment. Their phones didn't work, email didn't work...bunch of BS!!!

So, I bought some B-Quiet (search for it on eBay...about $200 for the enough to do your entire car). I installed it in the trunk and all four doors this weekend. It made a big difference. The exhaust is definitely quieter. I still have my stock SSL system in the car (waiting for my sub enclosure to come in a couple days) and it sounds much better.

B-Quiet is on the same level as Dynamat...it just weighs a little bit less. I covered my entire trunk. The entire floor and spare tire well. The side walls (even stuck my arms way inside to put some on the outside sheet metal. Put some on the back wall of the trunk as well. Then, for the doors, reached inside each door to put some on the outside sheet metal and also put some on the inside part of the door.

It is a pain in the *** to install. But, not really that hard to do it. Overall, I like it so far. Can't wait to install my amps, speakers and sub soon!!!

Derek, BTW, thanks for the super fast shipping on my spoiler, mirrors and gauge pod! Got them today and will be installing them over the next couple days

For hot amps, I usually use baby computer fans to remidy the situation. Some of them do get hot after extended and extreme use, especially in the summer. It may even go into thermal protection on you. If its an older (01-03) fosgate amp, it may ignite!!!
