Alarm question.

Hi everyone, I am new here, just picked my 06 Evo today.
It's a used with a alarm system, I think it's clifford 556U, I kinda hate aftermarket alarm.

I don't really know about the stock system, don't have anything. So what I have to do to get a stock system on my car? any control unit? harness?

Thanks

Just found out 556u is remote start unit, I'll go check the alarm unit now.

Update: Can't find it, too dark now, I'll try to find it tomorrow. Beside stock, any other alarm system you guys recommand? I don't need too much functions, just door, trunk lock and shock sensor. No remote start, no hood open shxt or anything unecessary.

Your best bet is to go with the aftermarket alarm system. IMO, I think factory alarm systems are only good on luxury vehicles. Don't count on Mitsubishi to come up with a "good" factory alarm system.

If you found the 556U easily I would go kick your installer in the nuts. A key to your car is inside it and most alarms can't stop someone with the key from stealing your car.

+1.Looks like your installer didn't try very hard.

That's what I am saying, I bought the car from Lexus dealer, and the system comes with the car. Only one remote and I think the system mess up some of my wires. The headlight level adjuster and fog light doesn't work at all, and you can tell there are some other stuffs not working right, like map light.

Maybe I'll just get another system and clear those wires.

Maybe that switch is unplugged. +3 on not finding the 556U. You shouldnt have known it was in the car. Chances are, the entire install was a hack job.
