the Alpine sounds better. the newer generation of Eclipse decks dont sound as good. quality has gone down...now that they went to mainstream retailers...booo Eclipse and Alpine were to be for "the elite" that wanted the best and had to go to a specialized retailer.

Stick with the Alpine, i have always been an Alpine fan...

But i do have to say... i am looking for a double din Navi system.. and i might lean towards the Pioneer AVIC-D3, or older pioneer AVIC-Z1

alpine for sure!!! the pioneer has a swivel knob and it can sometimes get annoying when you are trying to push in and it goes up. there are no "on face presets" 1,2,3,4,5,6 - i personally dont like some people do. it has a much better screen. the alpine is all in all a much better radio, and the best buy discount rocks reguardless so go ALPINE!

I would like to see pics of the Alpines installed also. I am looking between the Alpine CDA-9885 and the Pioneer Premier DEH-P790BT. I really want the bluetooth feature and the Pioneer has the built-in set up. Any help or suggestions would be great between these two receivers.

I am planning on adding a USB. I have heard that the blue tooth connection does not work very well with the alpine and everything i have read states that the pioneer system is great! soo many options soo little time....

that is the alpine cda-9855 was the highest end model that alpine came out with for that generation. if you click the link next to the picture you can see the whole install and all the equipment i did in the evo. its all alpine components (ie type r - front components, rear coaxials, 12" sub. the v-series monoblock and 4ch amp. amplink, ipod adapter) the wiring is monster (2ga. and rcas) and a 5 farad alumapro capacitor
