2003 Lancer ES Sound Upgrade

Ok currently my system is stock except for the Pioneer head unit. Now i wanna take the next step to boost my system up i dont wanna spend like 100 dollars i have about 400-500 dollars and i was looking at these sub packages

Thats what ive seen so far. As far as amps and speakers i dont know much so can you guys give me somea advice on how to get a better system what other things do i need besides the sub and amp. Also i have no clue how to install so should i buy these parts at best buy and have them do it or buy them and take it to a little specialty shop? Please keep in mind i only have 400-500 to spend total in terms of product and installation what would be the best bang for my dollar?

Here's my suggestion :

*Alpine MRP-T220
50W x 2 Car Amplifier $129.99
or
*Alpine MRV-T320
80W x 2 Car Amplifier $200.00
*Pioneer TS-A1780R
6-3/4" 4-way speakers $109.99
And just install it yourself and learn something new...
Got mine from cruthcfield.com they'll give manuals for installation. I think that the 50watt amp. is fine depending on what kind of subs your gonna get! I've got two alpine type E...

if i were you out of the 4, id go for alphasoniks. but if u have enough money, go for rockford, alpine, kicker, eclipse, or mtx. or if you really want performance as in ultimate, go for JL or PPI. match it with quart compo systems or boston acoustics, and an alpine head unit or eclipse. and for amps go for kicker, ppi, rockford, alpine amps. thats only if its within your budget. as you can see on my profile, my car is stock except for suspension and audio. i have the following:
eclipse CD5423 head unit
PPI PCX5800 5 ch amp
rockford fosgate TRF2212 12'' sub
MBquart PCE216 2-way speakers
btw, i got mines from al and ed's xtreme autosound, www.al-eds.com

do those Pioneer 6 3/4" speakers directly screw on to the factory holes?

Type R's!!
I have a Pioneer headunit also its a DEH-p750mp
Using stock speakers, and my subs and 1200 watt amp, my system sounds awesome.
The stock speakers actualy work really well when you turn on high pass filter so they dont play anything below 125 hz, so they can be very loud. My system is clean and hits hard. Subs were 100 each, box was around 100, amp was like 200.
I would recommend getting a better amp though, i have a rockford 401s amp, its 1200 peak, but 400 rms.

oh, and I would recommend try doing it yourself first. Thats what i did and everything turned out fine. Its really easy to cable because all the panels just pull off and push back on. If you think you can do it anyway. The hardest part is getting it through the firewall, because its a small grommit and hard to find.

I think they do because i have the pioneer 6 3/4 3way and it fit perfectly, they used to have that one!
