Do you have a pinout for the stock harness, and for the Galant Climate control?

Im actually maing a custom piece now. I should have it done tomorrow and will post pics in a new thread. Its a complete one off custom using all stock parts. Lots of bondo work and plastic welding. But its gonna look sweet.

STILL don't have the defrost light working.

Just had a realization that I had a "stupid attack" and I could have used the -14V signal from the EVO's climate control, despite the use of the common ground on the Galant's indicator lights.

Oh well. Guess I'll pull out the soldering iron AGAIN when I take the dash apart.

Still waiting on the JDM double DIN instrument panel.

I wish orbital was still selling their kits.

Hi. I recently did this mod to relocate the HVAC on the Lancer using a 99 Galant climate control. The thing is that I got everything working except for the A/C switch and the damper control light doesn't turn on. Any tips on this? Do you have a diagram of what you did to compare it to mine and see what I'm missing? Any hep will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have a diagram. What do you mean "damper control light"?

However, I can suggest what to do with the A/C switch. What you have to do is find the poles connected to the A/C switch on the Galant switch. You then solder the wire to the side that shorts the high side of the switch (this is on the lancer circuit board) to ground, so it shorts to gound when you push the switch in (if you can't figure out what that means, then you solder both both sides to both wires, and this should work).

One small caveat, I'm not sure the Lancer panel is the same as the EVO. I suspect so, but I'm not sure. What did you see when you disassembled the Lancer dash, and where did you start on soldering the wires from the Galant?

Hey guys,

Check out the Praxis Development thread i just threw up. Shoot me some feed back. You should have a nice solution to this problem very soon, with your own personal touch.

Shawn, did you use the evo HVAC control board soldered to the galant HVAC front pieces, or the whole galant piece w/harness spliced into the evo harness?

Climate control??????

I have the orbital kit but have yet to use it. I do not like how the controls on the orbital kit stick out. I like how you set them back a little. Do you think you could give us some part numbers and part needs for this task so i could do it. I work on Abrams Tanks and Strykers so I am not afraid of some soldering at all. What year galant did you get the controls from? Do you remember which wires go where i.e. 5v red wire to orange with white stripe wire? That would help alot thanks

It really does look good!!!

Do you have a wiring map for what needs to go to what to do the swap? I have the stock HVAC and Galant HVAC sitting in front of me and there are more differences than I expected. I have no problem soldering everything up, I just don't know what wires go to what and it would be nice to not have to reverse engineer the evo and galant units to figure out.
