Yes you should get this alarm, or a Compustar. The turbo timer is just a function of the remote start. No there's no issues putting a remote start into an Evo. It's a little bit more labor intensive than an automatic, but that's it.

I'm not sure about the clifford, but I imagine it's the same thing since DEI owns clifford, and pretty much all DEI stuff is the same stuff with different brand names.

those two systems are basically the same thing. just different names and colored remotes, oh and different color LED lights for the alarm.

Both are EXCELLENT systems, I actually had the viper 791 on my car and have seen the same system on several other evos.

Yes it does have a built in turbo timer, you just have to activate it when you turn off the car. You end up getting used to it and automatically do it everytime without really thinking about it.

I cannot whole heartedly recommend this alarm(791xv). Not that it's a bad alarm, but the pager totally kills it. The battery life, pretty much no matter what you do, is terrible. That annoyance made me not want to use this system ever again.

IMO I would take the 5701 over the 791xv any day. I've had the 791xv on my last Evo.My brother has had it on 2 of his cars (he's a car audio/video installer). And yeah it did the job.

He has the 5701 on his TT Supra now and that alarm is just better (IMO). Plus the remote is ****!!!

Plus the 5701 has a remote start for manual vehicles.
