Normally your climate controls reside in that second din area. When you move that down its gonna be empty space. I believe you are going to have to come up with some custom brackets to hold your double din. Some double dins still come with a cage though. If yours has a cage you can just cage mount it.

Is this the one that is $38 and change? Damn that is cheap (especially compared to the Orbital).

Wow, that is a kickass price! I wonder if that is why Orbital stopped making theirs (I never knew why they got out of the bidness).

Anyone found a source for AC relocation kits?

I want to go double din but don't want to have a hacked AC plate

+1 wonder if anyone makes the HVAC relocation kit. Maybe some vendors can chime in on a new product.

It'll fit with the stock bracket holes but really poorly. I drilled my stock brackets out and was able to center and flush it and it looks fine. A little gap between the unit and the panel but nothing bad.

As others have stated, re-drilling is all that is required. New holes on the front of the brackets below the existing holes should do the trick.

That's what everyone else does and the Orbital install instructions include templates to provide drilling locations.

Not at all the reason why they stopped. Also, the orbital upper bezel looks a good deal better than the oem Mitsu piece.

Gonna have to use a Galant lower Hvac bezel and "make it work!"

And for anyone wondering, I've just recently sold my Orbital Kit after owning it for 1.5 years. It was an awesome piece.

I've heard/seen the complete opposite of what you've said from many orbital users. The fitment is complete crap, the "3D" grain looks nothing like OEM, and the JDM piece is by far superior.
