Power source for gauges
Power source for gauges
Where are you guy connecting your red(12v) and black(2a) wires? I have two xd-16 and they only gave me 7inches to work with, most likely i'll extend it out. I will have two xd-16's mounted on my steering column with an ATI dual pod. Any clean way to wire these suckers?
You can either fuse tap, which doesn't require much work, or you can t-tap into 12v wires.
I used both options....for my Innovate wideband, I t-tapped into the yellow 12-gauge power windows wire. For my Prosport boost gauge, I just fuse tapped (no special tap, I just tucked the exposed part of the wire under the fuse and plugged it in)
It's up to you...look in your manual for a list of 12v fuses that you can tap into.
EDIT: And isn't black the ground wire for you? If you're asking where to ground that, look on the side wall right next to the under-panel fuse box and you'll see 2 or 3 wires already grounded on a bolt in the wall. Unbolt that bolt and tuck in another wire or two and bolt it back in.

I am going to be installing some gauges soon as well. I think I am going to go the fuse panel route and use a add-a-circuit.
Does anybody have a fuse panel diagram? what fuse is for what?
The service manual just says fuses Numbers 1-21.
