dude, stock evo fogs are indeed 55w halogens, but for HID replacing halogens, it is 35w HID for stock fogs....i am not so sure how long can your 55w 3k HID in your fogs last for cuz 55w HID generate much more heat in small area in your fogs....sometimes 55w HID might melt your housings....

as for some 55w HID to some car models, it is a security to install a relay harness cuz it can prevent 55w HID ballast overload due to high temperature, power spike, and irregular voltage...

but for 35w HID kit, no need to install a relay harness just choose a slim HID ballast kit (be concered of eazy installation), standard HID ballast also work well....

No relay needed! I've been running the ddm slim 55w kit in my low beams for almost a year and no issue at all expect sometimes if I turned the car on and then turne the lights on one headlight would stay off. So I would have to turn then car off, turn the lights off and on, both lights would turn on and then turn the car on. But as far as housing melting no issuses. Also I had my headlights tinted and the 55w kit looked like 35w so I can't wait to see them once the car comes back from the shop

i dont mean relay harness is a necessity , just as what i mentioned above: it is a security to install a relay harness cuz it can prevent 55w HID ballast overload due to high temperature, power spike, and irregular voltage...

Your fuses would blow before the wiring would melt wouldn't it?

Pretty straight forward install. basically plug and play for most applications.

you would think, but I know a few people that have set their engine bays on fire using the cheaper wire in kits and the wiring was always the cause of the fires.

It isn't just plug -n- play wit factory HID's ..ive also heard bits about reverse polarity ?
From I gather you need to buy plugs.. hack your factory plugs off.. solder on new ones

Hi,

I can assure you that our (any manufacturer) oem ballast is superior to ANY other aftermarket ballast, 35w or 55w. in term if longevity and output, oem > * , in term if warm up time, OEM always > aftermarket. hope that helps

anything that melts is usually because of improper installation.

how about faster darkening of the plastic lens of our headlights because of the higher wattage of the bulbs?
