A proximity alarm will give a audible warning if someone or something is is a certain proximity of your car. Worth looking into.

As far as alarms.. Had most all of them.

One of my FAVORITE is the zenesis. They have some very cool features that no one else does. The Zpass is very cool, so is the smart turbo timer. Also IMO they are what Viper use to be.

Not a bad price:

man! if that was me, i would probably cry. sorry for the haters out there! i think maybe your insurance could of covered that damage. one time somebody did that to my camry and my insurance covered it. but keep it in the light or somewhere close to your room. alarms are good too, especially the camera alarms. you could really get somebody in trouble for messing up on your beautiful evo! best luck to you

If you're keeping it outside at your house, I would put cameras up and set up a tv you can keep an eye on. It's pathetic that something that drastic is necessary to maintain the safety of your vehicle but that's what I would do. And as soon as someone touches it gtfo there.

Like someone else pointed out a proximity sensor will go off ALL the time. It gets annoying very quickly.

My brother does car audio/video for a living so naturally he has Viper alarms in all of his cars. They are very reliable and the newer series works pretty well.

Biggest thing you could probably do is get motion sensor lights outside of your home (someone else may have mentioned this). This can actually scare potential morons away. Couple that along with a thick car cover on your car at night. It's a hassle, but people are less likely to go through the trouble of removing a car cover (if you have it tied down in inconspicuous locations) just to key a car. Especially if they get hit with the spotlights at the same time. If they still stick around to mess with your car.....well it sounds like you have yourself an enemy.

Everyone here I'm sure has a story or 2 of getting something messed up or ruined by some random *****. And I don't mix my words on that one. Anyone who messes with another man's stuff is a coward. No matter how much I've hated anyone in my life I would NEVER touch another mans belongings. If you have that much animosity towards someone you either can ignore them or you can settle it like men. Simple.

Good luck man and sorry to hear about that BS.

Sorry to hear it! Hate to bust your bubble boy, but an alarm of any type is not going to keep someone from keying your car (especially if you have an enemy that is geting a kick out of it). Well, maybe if you tie a pit bull to the bumper that may work

Keying a car all the way around takes about 10 seconds while stealing a stereo system may take upward of 30 seconds to 1 minute. There are warning chirps, then you have to hear the alarm (2 way or not), get to the car, see whats up, then start blasting.

As long as you have it parked outside (and even inside in some cases)....you're ride is fair game for **** like this to happen to it (vandels, thieves, etc.)

If someone wants to key your car up over and over, they will, no doubt

But if an alarm makes you feel better, go for it,...you're probably better of buying a cheap red LED and mounting it to your dash...if you;re looking for a deterent....then you can save your cash for a storage spot

Good luck to you

I know this sometimes works for motorcycles but if you don't keep it that clean and it looks a little beat up (even though internally, everything performs like new), people are less likely to key it cause it already looks trashed.

Otherwise, there's really not much you can do to prevent someone from walking by, keying your car in 5 seconds, and walking away. The most you can do is deter them, whether actively with alarms or psychologically.
