Problems with Alpine CDA 9884

Lately my head unit has been acting up. It powers on and off but the music still plays and I have no control over it. I try to change the song or lower the volume but it won't work, it looks like it's off but the music still plays and none of the controls work. Any idea whats going on?

Does the faceplate light up? If not, then bad connection between the radio and the faceplate.

If it lights up and you still have no control, could still be bad connection or a defective radio.

Sounds like the connection of the faceplate and the radio has gone bad, Try cleaning the connecting parts of the faceplate to the radio and see if that helps. Also try to push the faceplate against the radio, see if the connection comes back. If none of that works, you could try to buy a new faceplate, but those usually are pretty pricey. I suggest you buy a new radio.
