Alpine 9883 install
Thinking of picking up a 9883 used....
I am just plan to run with stock speakers or maybe components and a amp so I do not need anything to spectacular.... Just low cost and ipod capability...
Anyways....
Just wondering if I need a faceplate trim piece for install? Or do are cars not need it?...

I have an Alpine 9883 installed in my car by the previous owner and I personally don't really care for it. The sound is nothing spectacular and the controls for the sound are very basic. I would expect a lot more for a stereo that retails for as much as this one does. The iPod controls work well but that's about the only thing I like about it. My trim ring also popped off the other day and now it won't go back on. If I had the money I'd swap it out with a Panasonic. I've had a couple of those and the sound is great in them and equalizer controls are awesome. Allows you to really fine tune the sound.
