the connection might not work that great at high speeds. Ive heard Clear(same as spring 4g) works only up to 50mph or so, so streaming something on a trip might not be possible.

I have had this in the planning, but HVAC relocate kit holding me back, also, never thought of an 8" Lilliput screen, I wonder how that would fit.

As for the Sprint 4g thing: Wow, that sucks. Though if it is that lame I'll check Verizon and AT&T. I have all three data plans (told you I had an addiction ).

HVAC Relocate Issue: There is a LOT of information out there on relocating your HVAC. And I even did extra work and made my own HVAC face plate too.

I've been trying to take a break from working on this all week, cause I knew that I would be spending the majority of my time on it this weekend and didn't want to get burned out. But that didn't happen .

I ended up running some tests on Audio and found that eXtreme-Speed was correct and I needed an amp (but the Acer is rockin). So I went and purchased a 100w/ch RMS JVC amp that was an open box buy, then re-tested and WOW...even with the stock speakers it sounds like a completely new system in the car. I'm not an audiophile, so it's good to me .

And below are some teaser pics (remember, the HVAC face is something hand made by me):

I'm already on my second carPC...it's definitely something nice to have in the car.

I built the PC myself, though, rather than buying it. I would highly recommend an SSD for a carPC application....much, much better bootup and application/front end loading etc.

Here's a link to a thread with some crappy videos of my setup. I took them with my phone and just realy quick to show, but you get the idea. If you have any questions, or if I can help, let me know.

I got the same screen as you, and am using Centrafuse 3.1 instead of 2.0. Really, you should upgrade to 3.1 if you haven't already, much cleaner, more stable, and generally a better product.

Sorry, the screenshots on the link provided showed Centrafuse 2.0. I like Riderunner's flexibility and may end up going to it later, but for now I'm sticking with Centrafuse 3.1...way more stable. I crashed Riderunner and Centrafuse 2.0 both easily during testing. So far I have never crashed Centrafuse 3.1, I have hung the app, and it self recovered, but never crashed it.

You need the JDM climate control, it will flow better with the screen.

Already thought of, however the JDM Climate Control is electronic auto-climate control. Won't work in our cars. I have 3 options I'm looking at for a later mod:

1. Get JDM Controls and make them work on US HVAC Module
2. Integrate JDM Auto-Climate Controls (headache)
3. Junk all climate controls completely, use the computer and silonoids to control HVAC (wicked sick but don't know if I can yet)

I was thinking pretty hard about #3. I do controls/plc work for a living and I don't think it would be too awfully difficult. They make I/O boards that run off of USB. What I don't know is how the climate control works on the Evo. I assume the fan speed switch is a variable resistor, and the location selection is probably vacuum driven?
