I have no radio in the EVO, gets boring on long trips, but I would never add all weight of a complete sound system.

just my preference though

throw it in. having a good sound system in your car makes driving 100X better and more enjoyable.

I am all for listening pleasure. I have dual 12s running in fiberglass enclosures on the sides... Here are some pictures of them with 10s when I first got the enclosures (I have upgraded to dual 12s)

I was concerned about weight as well, which is why I ran fiberglass boxes. the pannel where all the equipment is mounted is only 1/4" plywood that is structurally bonded to the chassis. all of the amps, caps and the like are mounted with T-nuts and bolts (for a strong bond to the thin plywood) The equipment is now hidden behind a carbon fiber false wall with only the heat sinks showing, and a duck cloth port into the cabin.

I have a remote filler for the windshield washer bottle (shown here) you can also see the B-quiet that I used... this was the best sound deadening for the weight.

Well, How often would you be listening to the sub? Probably a lot more than having an extra 80lbs factor into a speed equation.

With a sub, you can always turn it down
