Additional Key (Spare)

I bought a key from eBay, the one for $15.
Recently I went to the locksmith and there seems to be a problem with the programmer or the way the locksmith is doing the key.
We are not able to figure out how to add both keys to the system, we can have either the original or the spare working. So both keys work but we cant have both of them working at the same time.
He goes plugs the programmer on the odbII port, goes to mitsubishi usa, lancer turbo and reads the code, he then inserts the key programs the original one and selects to add additional key, but the programmer never connects to the second one and it says that its not a valid key.
But I know the key works because we can program the spare by itself and it works fine, with the original being without a program.
Anybody has any ideas? or has experienced anything like this?
Thanks a lot
Sergio

Sure can you PM it to me? I just ordered the key. I went ahead and got it because, it'd be nice to have it programmed, but I'm mostly needing something incase I lock my keys in my car.

Or you could possibly just take your key to the dealer and have them cut it

Do you just need to give the locksmith the cut code? Can you PM me it? Will Walmart cut it?

I need to also order a key fob, any problem with this one?

I will try to program it using this method:

I think if your locksmith can't figure it out then ask the dealer for advice.
