Can't solve SRS light problem. Help??

I got an SRS after an alarm install last month. I thought the installers were just dumb and unplugged something so I went to the dealership yesterday to get them to clear the code. But they couldn't clear the code (DTC-1D) and it showed that the left front impact sensor is either faulty or the wiring to it is faulty. I assumed it was the wiring.

Today I tried to diagnose the problem further. I checked the resistance of the left and right impact sensors and both read 0.817 ohms. I checked conductivity of the wires from the left impact sensor (green and light green) back to the SRS brain and they were good. I also checked to see if there was a ground / power attached to any of the 2 wires and there wasn't an issue there either. So now it seems like the SRS brain is the issue. What seemed like a bad alarm install turned out into a bad coincidence! Can anybody give me some insight here on what to do/check/etc.?

i had somewhat of the same problem. if you disconnect any of the srs system and plug it back in you will have to clear the code in the dealership. on my car it turned out to be the #3 fuse.the guy at the dealership told me that i had tapped something to it and it messed with it . check if they messed with any of the fuses. for some reason that fuse has something to do with the srs and if messed with it can cause the srs light to turn on...

In case anyone is wondering, I ended up getting 3 different service manuals (evo 8, 2005 evo 8 update, and evo 9 for good measure, lol) and went through the airbag sensor and wires. There was continuity through the wires and the left and right airbag sensors showed the same resistance. So I was going to go actually follow the diagnostic procedure in the service manual to solve the issue but when I took my car in for a timing belt service I got the dealership to reset the code. Turns out the first dealership that I paid 100+ lied to me about trying to reset it. All they did was read it.

Although the service tech did say it was an "active" code and he thinks it will come back. I'm not so sure since the srs light usually came on right away if there was a problem.

Sometimes the module comes loose and you just have to make sure it is plug in real good, but do this with the car in the off position. The SRS module is right behind the ashtray and it has a Yellow connector.
