AUX-input help

Hello everyone
I have 06 RS with stock radio head unit installed, I would like to add an aux cable so I can plug my mp3 player in it.
Does anyone know how I can accomplish this.....is there an oem option?
thanks for your help

no....There is no aux...could go external but those suck. By a new head unit and check the plug and play cabling options and you are good to go for under 200.00. a much better option . Alpine makes a few good radios in that range--simple and it works.

Agreed. An Alpine 102 can be had for ~$150 with a USB/AUX input and illumination that (almost) matches the dash. Aside from the features, the sonic improvements over the stock deck can be startling.

I was afraid that my options were limited to the above, I like the oem radio, because would be thieves don't bother, but I may have to explore the Alpine route, thanks for the comments!

I like the stock radio, too. I like how it looks, I like its intuitive controls that are easy to operate on the move, and its tuner is quite good. After trying to work with it for a while, I came to the conclusion that it sounds like a POS, unlike the stock speakers. FWIW, if you install the HU in the lower cubby, it's not as easy to see.

I have to agree with FJF, Pyle isn't known for being the best quality amp, speaker, HU or anything else. You can almost buy it at a department store. It may sound good right when install it but one bump or long ride with the music on and you maybe looking for another amp if not more. There are a lot of better quality amps for similar prices. Do the research, please!!!!

10% of available product - well-executed proprietary designs, an emphasis on performance
85% of available product - picked out of a catalog in a Chinese/Korean factory showroom with final seller's name/logo printed on the case
5% of available product - garbage too wretched for the category above; that's where Boss fits in. It's the audio equivalent of an Ebay interfooler.

not to raise this from the dead but FJF i remember reading your praise about the alpine 102 unit is great for a starter HU with aux and usb input. Would i need anything else to install this? maybe an install kit or something?

If the HU will be installed in the stock location, nothing else is necessary.

If the car did come with factory gauges and you want to install the HU in their place, nothing else is necessary.

If the car didn't come with factory gauges and the HU will be installed where the lower cubby sits, you'll need a relocation kit form Mitsu.

The 102 is a terrific deck. If I didn't need changer controls, I'd be using one, myself.
