Speakers blown. Looking for an upgrade...

I have some sony speakers that are blown and now I'm looking for an upgrade. Just need something that sounds really good, sound quality is very important. Don't want to do anything else, just want some high quality speakers. I had an amp and 2 10'' JL w0's and got tired of it, I sold everything except my Alpine cda-9884. What do you guys suggest? I'm a total audio n00b.....

Thanks

I really like the sound of the Alpine type r. The are price reasonably, and push plenty of bass for me. I had a set that was just ran off a headunit and they sounded great. I am sure off a amp they would sound even better

Don't go alpine components I use to be a audio guru. Id recommend focal, rainbow,dLs, digital designs, or mmats. Those are very high end components with great output and sql. They also get extremely loud with very little power. They are very efficent.

Alpine are a great bang for the buck and sound decent but put the ones I recommended next to the alpines and you will notice a huge difference in sound. I love the alpine head units and woofers just not a fan of the components. Just my 2 cents

I'd suggest sealing and deadening the doors, installing a set of stokers from the classifieds, and leaving out the rears. Good luck.

Same boat

I find that JL audio has the best support for the 9. Their product line up has 6 3/4 components and 6 3/4 coaxials that suposably fit factory. If budget is no option pick the focals. I however am leaning towards the JL c5-650's. Even though rear speakers mean little in a car audio system for sound stage the JL's have a coaxial mate in the C5-650x. I am not saying other companies don't support both; just that most either are not affordable (jury is still out) or that they have different mounting/power requirements. If you already had JL why not give them a listen?
