Evo 8 Tach not working

Evo 8 Tach not working
So I bought an 03 Evo 8 from an auction place. The car is in great shape with about 74k on the clock. It has a turbo back exhaust and I know the ecu was reflashed... Because we had to have mitsu reflash it to get it to pass emissions along with a new cat. Long story short the Tach never worked and it looks like they had some gauges in before I got the car. Power is getting to the back of the instrument gauge but not working, the auction place ordered a new gauge set and the tach still does not work we are all kinda stumped any suggestions?
