looking at getting a Double din DVD player/cd player stereo for the Evo. Now here is What i need

1) detachable FACE, this is a must i live in chicago if i left a nickle on the hood it be gone in the morning.

2) Ipod/iphone/ipad compatable

Any one have any thing like this in thier car was looking at a couple boss ones but im not sure reviews were not that good on them, looking for your input guys. thanks

 

we sell Kenwood which are good but none of them have the detach face for the 2din units. Pioneer is also good but Im not sure of the detach face on those either.

 

IN MY OPINION, the best ones are usually the non-detachable face. I have the Pioneer Avic-Z120BT and it has everything to offer, ipod/pandora/netflix/nav/bluetooth/etc... love it.

 

Pioneer offers a few that have a detachable piece that won't allow them to be used at all without it. And I believe Kenwood or Jensen one of them has a full detachable face, screen and all. I personally have a Pioneer, and love it. Those are a couple of options you have to look up. Good Luck!

 

Thanks ill keep looking, like i said it sucks cause id rather have a nice non detachable face.. be then again id rather not need a new window and new dash trim cause some crack head stole my double din. And yes i have a alarm but these crack heads are Quick

 

what size fills in the double din the best i kno not all of the actual screens are the same size.

JVC AVX640. It's a 6.1" screen. The face is detachable, Iphone/Ipod compatible, DVD screen quality is pretty good, and it's pretty cheap for a DVD HU. JVC makes one that has a 7" screen without the volume knob and is also detachable too.



I had a pioneer AVH4300 before, which is now in my friend's evo x. I think the JVC unit is better. My friend also thinks the same lol. The pioneer's face was not detachable btw.

 

I'm getting the Pioneer App Radio 2 when it's release in spring. Another option for you to think about. However it does not have a detachable face.
