Teh Evo SQ Build.

Well, i figured i would share with everyone my build with my 03 Evo. I compete in MECA in Sound Quality. Pretty basic equipment due to i compete in the "stock" class. When i started the build i owned a car audio shop, so i went when this class basicly due to anyone could have the exact same setup as i did for pretty cheap, and also be very competitive with it.

My setup is..
Cd Player - Pioneer Deh-80prs
Speakers - Focal Polyglass 165VR (front doors have 2 layers of dynomat, along with egg foam is lined on the inside of the door skin)
Sub - Crossfire C5 12" (3 cuft sealed box)
Amps - Arc Ks400.4 & Ks300.2

Here's the problem: The car is standing still in SQ comps. Sometimes, it's not even running. Getting good sound out of an Evo that's moving, not standing still, is a whole 'nother exercise. Ask me how I know.

You mean, to your ears, the sound doesn't change when the car is on the move?

Now I'm confused. You seem to be asking a question, yet you own the car. If, OTOH, it's a statement, then we can discuss this from a numerical standpoint. Audio is mathematical and these constraints can be easily illustrated. While it's logically impossible to prove a negative, in this case the same idea is easily discounted by the use of algebra.

i wasnt asking as a question. just basicly saying it in a "confused" way. with the windows up, moving or not its sounds the exact same. By rolling the windows down it completly changes the acoustics of the car, but thats with any car.

The mods on your car, per your post:
MODS
BC 272 cams
10.5 hotside
3" Turbo back
STM upper icp kit (lower is unknown brand)
pte 1200 injectors
muse o2 dump
MBC @ 26psi
walbro 255
93 pump

It is extremely difficult to tune a stock Evolution for relatively even (moving vs standing still) frequency response due to its noise, which is random and variable in its spectrum, especially on the low end. This serves to reinforces and/or cancel a given frequency range when the car is moving, or even when it's just running and parked. Moving, of course, the effects are much greater. Tuning a car like yours is impossible for the same reasons, albeit on a completely different order of magnitude. I'm sorry; what you're asserting simply cannot happen.
