Evo IX Mild Stereo Build
Evo IX Mild Stereo Build
Hello Everyone,
I am in the process of planning a mild stereo upgrade for my Evo IX SE. here are a list of things I would like done
1.)Replace Front door speakers and tweeters with an updated more powerful
component set..perhaps JL or MB Quart.
2.) Replace Rear Shelf Speakers with Either a Coax or Mid Bass Driver only
3.)Install 4 channel amplifier to drive all the speakers
-I have already replaced the head unit, and am fairly familiar with audio builds.
I DO NOT WANT A SUBWOOFER! I am avoiding this at all costs...I enjoy having useable trunk space and dont feel the need for a subwoofer. I am looking for a clean, loud, powerful setup that has great Highs and some decent mid bass.
-what I am looking for is recommendations on the rear shelf speakers..should I simply stick with some coax speakers, or specifically put in some mid bass drivers to gain a little more bass.. im not worried about the soundstage in the rear seats...just the front.
-what component set is a good choice where the included tweeters will fit nicely into the factory location behind the A pillar?

This is exactly what I want to do. I want an awesome system without the subs... So what im going to be doing in the next few months is purchasing 2 sets of these kicker door speakers and hooking them up to a 4 channel 400 watt (100 watt per channel) amp. Should sound pretty amazing...

I have a set of Premium MB Quart Components on the way (PVM216). I will see how these sound and then determine if I will AMP the front and rear speakers. I am also trying to find some information on sound deadening the doors with the component install. Time to hit up the forums.
