Climate control does not work along with back lighting

So ever since I bought my Evo back in October I've had an issue with my climate control not working. No matter what its on be it hot warm cool freezing cold all it does is blow hot air, or as hot as the engine is. Which is nice currently for the winter but come summer it will be an issue. I've already checked all the fuses associated with it and none of them are bad. Another issue I've been having is the back lighting for all 3 switches. They don't light up. At first I thought they weren't supposed to but then my buddy said they were and I've checked all the fuses for this and they're all good. I have no idea what to do about it any help is appreciated!!!

Air heat is controlled by a cable, no fuses involved there. Check that the cable is intact and not bent / broken

As for the lights; pull out your multimeter and start testing

UPDATE

Checked the cable and gears. Cable is bent and busted and doesn't work and the gears are very sticky. Already ordered new ones. Only issue is that the clip that holds the cable right next to the gear must have fallen out and I can't find and can't find where to buy another one. I actually tested all the fuses related to the lighting for the switches and they all are good. Pulled out the bulbs and they're not bad but they still don't work and seems like they're powered either by the defroster and ac switch and the blower switch which both still work so the lights should be working too. I don't know. Maybe I'll replace the bulbs and see if that works.

Check teh dimmer switch to left of steering column. could be the wire going to the a/c panel is bad or the switch is bad for that part of the circuit

alright lighting for the climate control was fixed. turned out to be bad bulbs. As for the heater switch not working I got a new cable and gears but the problem is is that I can't find the clip that holds down the cable right before it attaches to the gears. What I mean is that the previous owner lost it and didn't tell me. I can't find where to by it. Or a part number for it. I'll include a pic of the clip on the other cable with a green a arrow pointing to it.

Every Evo I have owned except my current 03 has had a heater/cooling flap cable issue.
They don't seem to last long after replacing either.
