I have an Evo 8 rolling shell. Any idea how I can get my windows up (withought power)?

 

Is all the harnessing in place? Cant you just install a 12V battery in the engine bay?

 

I took a 12 volt batter hooked a wire to it, then tried the door harness and got nothing

 

Was this the power window motor harness or a switched harness? With the door panel off, I would take the power window motor itself and connect it straight to a car battery. If the motor is somehow bad, then you'll have to mess with the window regulator. Either way it shouldn't be too difficult.

 

No motor in the car nothing it's a completely gutted shell , engine harness is in a bag in the engine bay. Cars going to paint shop monday

 

Ah Gotcha, so there are no electric motors in the doors on the window regulators either?

 

There is.. I'm going to take 18 gauge auto wire connect to my tractor battery and try that

 

In that case if the motors are good and you did connect a 12v battery to them, it should have worked. Switching polarity in a simple dc motor like that would reverse the direction of the window.
