Infotainment suggestions for logging EvoScan

I am considering upgrading my sparce and old fashoined stereo in my 9, but wanted to simplify logging and provide some gauge displays. I know Razorlab and others had a pretty trick setup years ago so they had plenty of music control, for which I have very limited and simple requirements (essentially anything) but they also were able to log without draggin a laptop into the car, and this gave them gauges that really moderinzed the look if not provided a ton of good data, especially on track.

What is the current thinking on this stuff as I haven't been around in a while.

Thanks
M

You should look at what Pal215 did in his build thread. He bought a small stick computer that he hid in the center console under the dash and he has it plug into his head unit that has a DVI input. He uses a fold out keyboard for computer input. Even wrote a script that auto boots up the PC and fires up Evoscan right after the car starts. Pretty slick system and the best one I've seen so far. The head unit he used is around $1000 but Sony is coming out with a comparable unit (single DIN with a floating screen) around Christmas with a retail of around $500
