In car Evoscan/Mitsulogger?

Anyone using a setup to run Evoscan/ecuflash/mitsulogger in realtime while driving? I've got my cable, software, and a laptop I'm going to disassemble, but I'm looking for a decient head unit to install for the laptop display. Wondering if anyone's done this yet, and if they have any suggestions for a head unit. What I really want is something that can have two way communication with the laptop, aka touchscreen that could act as the mouse control?

Any thoughts?

My friend has a similar set up in his car (not an Evo) and he can view real-time information about his car on the fly. He wasn't able to integrate his touch screen flip out screen to work with his carputer (too much custom work) so he just installed the Gyration mouse to his laptop which you can use in the air. His works with great success and there have been countless times I've done tweeks to his ECU after he got a new performance part in.

I was planning on using a wireless keyboard, and one of those tiny wireless laptop mice in the meantime, but I thought a touchscreen with USB back to the PC would be sweetness. Rumor has it that you can get a 7" touchscreen off ebay for around $300, but I want to have an all in one nav/mitsulogger/cd player etc if there was something out there that did. My problem is I haven't been in a stereo shop for 10 years now until my recient idea..

Yea, that's the same predicament my friend ran into. We ended just going with an Alpine DVD unit IVA-D310 and ran the carputer to the AUX section by using a TV output card on the carputer using RCA cables from that to the screen. He also got a 60gb mp3 player as an added bonus and he just runs MP3s using his gyration mouse.

I just bought a kenwood KVT817-DVD unit with NAV option, so as soon as it arrives, the project begins!
